Project Overview
The Tsui Ping River Revitalization project is a transformative community and infrastructure initiative aimed at converting a longstanding urban nullah into a vibrant, eco-friendly river. As part of a multidisciplinary team, I contributed to the project's branding and environmental graphic design, ensuring that the revitalized river would not only serve as a functional waterway but also as a visually engaging and community-oriented space.
Our design approach focused on creating a cohesive visual identity that would resonate with the local community and reflect the project’s environmental goals. This included the development of logos, key visuals, and comprehensive branding elements that were applied across various touchpoints, such as construction hoardings, informational leaflets, magazines, and the future wayfinding system to be integrated into the river's environment.
The logo design for Tsui Ping River uses flowing curves and lines to capture the river's dynamic, natural character. Linear typography emphasizes the river's role as a connector and community hub. The color palette reflects the various scenes and moods of the river at different times of the day.
As part of the communication strategy, we also designed and contributed to the content of TPR magazines, a key tool to keep the neighborhood informed and engaged throughout the three-year construction period. Each issue was thoughtfully themed to provide updates and deepen the community’s connection to the project.
